Chilly start to the month, but have been finding great action on redfish, sheepshead and trout in the deeper sloughs and holes. My trip yesterday had over a dozen sheepshead to bring home for dinner. February is the best month for sheepshead as they gang up in big schools getting ready to spawn. Lot of fun on light tackle and even better table fare.
Redfish and trout fishing is still doing well. I’ve been catching them mid day in the deeper pockets of water on jigs primarily. Great stretch of weather coming up I’m betting the fishing will really turn on with it!
