Fishing Report March 9th thru 14th

This past week has been on fire across the Big Bend region of Florida. The warmer temperatures have the fish fired up, and both redfish and trout have been absolutely crushing anything we put in front of them. It’s the kind of action that reminds you spring has officially arrived on the coast.

We’re also starting to see the first signs of our migratory fish showing up. A few cobia have already been spotted cruising, and we even had a tarpon roll in front of the boat this week — a clear signal that things are about to get really interesting.

The next two to three months are some of the best fishing we see all year in the Big Bend. As the water continues to warm, the grass flats and creek mouths will be loaded with hungry fish, and most trips should see steady action from start to finish.

As we close out this week, the tides will continue to strengthen as we approach the full moon. These moving tides typically get the fish feeding even harder and create some prime conditions for sight fishing and working the shallow flats.

If you’ve been thinking about getting on the water, now is the time. Spring dates fill quickly, and the fishing right now is exactly what anglers wait all year for.

Come experience it for yourself with Capt. Greg DeVault’s Angling Adventures and see why the Big Bend is one of Florida’s most exciting inshore fisheries this time of year.

Tight lines,
