Orlando Fishing Report 1/26

Most of the country is very cold, but here in central Florida, we are having comfortable temperatures! Yes there are still cold days but mild in comparison.

Even with these passing fronts and higher wind, the opportunity to go fishing remains!

I am still running inshore saltwater charters but lately, I have been spending more time on the St John’s River chasing our short term visitor, the American Shad and its relatives the hickory shad, gizzard shad and blue back herring.

These fun fish provide an incredible bite and fight on light tackle. The by catch is no slouch either. Largemouth bass, specks (crappie), bluegil, hybrid bass, and catfish are all willing participants and so much fun to catch!

Let’s go fishing!
