The water might be cooling down, but the fishing is heating up here aboard the Sea Spirit in sunny Ponce Inlet, Florida. With ocean temperatures settling in at a crisp 66 degrees, we’ve been greeted by classic winter conditions to start off 2026—bluebird skies, calm seas, and comfortable rides offshore.
This time of year is well known for producing some of our favorite table fare, and the bite has been living up to expectations. Vermilion snapper, triggerfish, and even the occasional black sea bass have been showing up consistently.
These tasty stringer fish aren’t shy, either—a simple piece of squid fished anywhere from right on the bottom to about 10 cranks up has been getting the job done. Cooler water often means more predictable patterns, and anglers who pay attention to depth are being rewarded.
Back at the dock, the freshly painted Sea Spirit is looking better than ever and ready for your next deep sea fishing adventure near Daytona Beach. Over the next few weeks, we’ll also be installing brand-new A/C units as we prepare for the warmer months ahead, making sure your time on board stays comfortable year-round.
If you’re looking to kick off 2026 with great fishing, light crowds, and ideal offshore conditions, now is the perfect time to get out with us.
As always, tight lines and good vibes!
